Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for a

Cabin Vendor Manager (d/f/m)

located in Hamburg with a possible start date of October 2023 or later.

In this position you will be part of the international team within Customer Service for aircraft cabin upgrades. The Cabin Vendor Manager (CVM) team is responsible for managing the customization, definition and qualification of cabin equipment for different kinds of main cabin equipment like seats, galleys, lavatories, stowages, etc. as part of an Airbus Cabin Upgrade project for civil programs (SA, A330, A350, A380).

In this position, you are responsible to customize cabin equipment taking into account existing aircraft cabins, airworthiness and customer specific requirements to fulfill high Airbus quality standards and economic aspects. As you work in close cooperation with international suppliers and customers, you represent Airbus in external relations. You lead technical negotiations on behalf of the Customer Services team with aircraft customers and external equipment manufacturers.

Your location

You will be working at the largest production site for civil aircraft situated in Hamburg. Its location on the southern banks of the river Elbe includes the option to commute by ferry. Your tasks and responsibilities

  • You are responsible for the creation and delivery of technical specifications for aircraft cabin equipment

  • You coordinate all activities to ensure an agreed definition with all involved parties

  • You are in charge of closely monitor, steer and accept the external deliverables of the cabin suppliers

  • To ensure the aircraft certification you contribute with your on-time deliverables the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) certification process

  • You support of the physical integration into the aircraft (on site and off site)

  • Cost estimation and cost controlling are also one of your tasks

Desired skills and qualifications

  • Educated Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Technology or completed technical apprenticeship (e.g. in aviation sector) with appropriate further training/education

  • You have a understanding of technical project management

  • Relevant experiences working on definition and design of engineering products is part of your profile

  • You have knowledge in CATIA or equal 3D-tools

  • Experience in the field of aircraft customization and/or certification would be a clear plus

  • You are willing to take over responsibility and obtain a technical delegation

  • You are able to work in dynamic and evolving project conditions as you are a highly flexible person

  • You have good communication skills, are a teamplayer and easily adapt to different stakeholders

  • Your working method is very structured and you have the ability to think analytically and understand complex situations

Desired language skills

  • English at negotiation level

  • German advanced

  • French or Spanish is a plus

  • This position involves a willingness to travel on an irregular basis several times a year within Europe and worldwide.
